Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse General Manager to lead and oversee our warehouse operations, focusing on efficiency, safety, and productivity. This role will play a critical part in building out a high-performing warehouse team and assisting with the company’s distribution and logistics operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in warehouse management, experience scaling distribution systems, and a passion for streamlining processes while fostering a high-performance culture. The Warehouse General Manager is both a people and profit leader. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the warehouse and has a fiduciary duty to the company to ensure client retention, financial health and staff development. This position will be responsible for ensuring budgetary goals are met by the team as well as acting as a key stakeholder in change initiatives
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring accurate and timely order fulfillment, shipping, and receiving.
- Build and manage a growing warehouse and distribution team, including recruitment, onboarding, and training, to support expanding operations.
- Develop and implement scalable logistics and distribution strategies to optimize delivery times, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Manage inventory levels, conduct regular cycle counts, and ensuring accuracy of stock levels.
- Monitor and coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring compliance with regulations and timely deliveries.
- Lead and coach warehouse staff, fostering a collaborative and motivated team environment that encourages accountability and excellence.
- Analyze and manage warehouse performance metrics, driving continuous improvement in operational efficiency, order accuracy, and on-time shipments.
- Establish relationships with carriers, vendors, and external partners to negotiate contracts, improve distribution efficiency, and resolve any issues that arise.
- Implement and maintain safety procedures and policies, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Manage the maintenance and cleanliness of the warehouse facility and equipment.
- Optimize warehouse layout, space utilization, and material handling processes to improve operational flow.
- Oversee the implementation of warehouse management systems (WMS) and transportation management systems (TMS) to enhance logistics tracking and reporting.
Job Requirements
- Must have a minimum of 6 years' experience in a relevant leadership role, with a focus on distribution and logistics operations.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or related field is a plus
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience building and scaling teams.
- Experience developing logistics and distribution processes that improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Proficiency in warehouse management software (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices in warehouse and logistics operations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Capacity to swiftly adapt to changing circumstances and proactively seek innovative solutions.
- Familiarity with the telecommunications industry is preferred.
